  15. impresario; and Carroll Douglass, former mental patient at
  16. Bellevue Hospital; in New York City. Over Douglass's objections,
  17. Justice Carmen Ciparick invalidated the 2 1/2-year union on the
  18. ground that Bing, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, is
  19. "incapable of understanding the nature and consequences" of his
  20. actions. According to his lawyer, Bing forgets marrying
  21. Douglass, and has not been told of the annulment because it
  22. would confuse him.
